A monthly truce in "air, sea, and energy" — what peace plan do Macron and Starmer propose for achieving stability in Ukraine?

The French President Emmanuel Macron, in collaboration with the British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, is developing a coordinated plan aimed at establishing peace in Ukraine. This was reported by Le Figaro.

One of Macron's key initiatives is the proposal for a lunar ceasefire, which encompasses the airspace, maritime areas, and energy infrastructure of Ukraine. He emphasizes European initiatives in the peace settlement process, striving to ensure that Europe does not fall into the shadow of a new agreement between the USA and Russia.

Macron added that the deployment of ground troops for peacekeeping will occur later.

"In the coming weeks, there will be no European troops on Ukrainian soil. The question is how we use this time to try to achieve a feasible ceasefire, with negotiations that will last several weeks, and then, after the signing of the peace agreement, deployment," said the French President.

It is worth noting that the British Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced a new meeting with the US President Donald Trump regarding the peace agreement for Ukraine. He also mentioned that the UK and France will develop a plan to cease hostilities in Ukraine.
