Lithuania has allocated €20 million for purchasing weapons for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Lithuania continues to support the Ukrainian defense industry, allocating at least 20 million euros for the purchase of weapons for the Armed Forces of Ukraine based on the principle of "buying in Ukraine for Ukraine." This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Lithuania.

The agency noted that the strategic agreement reached during the meeting between the presidents of Lithuania and Ukraine, Gitanas Nausėda and Volodymyr Zelensky, is actively being implemented. In particular, the countries agreed on the joint production of strategic types of weapons in Lithuania.

This issue was discussed by Lithuania's Minister of National Defense Davėle Šakalienė, the senior advisor to the President of Ukraine on strategic issues Oleksandr Kamyshin, and the Minister of Strategic Industries of Ukraine Herman Smetanin.

“Lithuania will continue to invest in the Ukrainian defense industry by purchasing in Ukraine for Ukraine. So far, 20 million euros have been allocated, and this amount will continue to grow. However, we aim for even closer cooperation - developing joint Lithuanian-Ukrainian arms production both in Lithuania and in Ukraine,” emphasized Šakalienė.

For security reasons, the Lithuanian Ministry of Defense does not disclose which specific weapons will be purchased. In the near future, representatives of the two countries will hold joint meetings to coordinate the details.
