A hospital in Kyiv overpaid more than 230,000 hryvnias for the renovation of its shelter.

The Pechersk District Prosecutor's Office of Kyiv reported suspicion against the lead engineer of the City Clinical Hospital No. 12 for failing to properly fulfill official duties, which resulted in significant losses to the state budget. This was announced by the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office.

The investigation established that in 2023, the hospital entered into a contract with a company for the development of project documentation for the capital repair of the shelter. According to the results of an economic examination, it was found that the contractor inflated the cost of work by more than 230 thousand hryvnias.

As a result, the capital's budget suffered damage in the corresponding amount. The engineer's actions have been classified under part 1 of Article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (official negligence). The investigation is ongoing.
