The President of the United States Joe Biden has signed the defense budget for the fiscal year 2025, amounting to approximately $895 billion. This was reported by the White House press office.
The document, known as H.R. 5009, the "Military Quality of Life Enhancement Act and National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2025," allocates significant funding for various defense sectors.
Specifically, $850 billion will be allocated to the base budget of the U.S. Department of Defense, while an additional $33.5 billion will be directed towards nuclear weapons programs overseen by the U.S. Department of Energy. Furthermore, an extra $25 billion will be dedicated to the development of missile defense, shipbuilding, and counter-drone technology.
