YouTube is preparing a new ad-free subscription plan, but with some limitations.

The YouTube platform is set to launch a new Premium Lite subscription plan that will allow users to watch videos without ads. However, unlike the standard YouTube Premium, it will not include access to music services, writes Bloomberg.

Who is this new plan suitable for?

Premium Lite will be a great option for those who primarily watch podcasts, educational videos, or entertainment content but do not require YouTube Music. This subscription format is already being tested in the USA, Australia, Germany, and Thailand.

What do we know about the pricing?

The standard YouTube Premium currently costs $13.99 per month in most countries. In Ukraine, this subscription will be priced at 99 UAH/month. However, the exact price of the new plan has not yet been disclosed.

How will this affect content creators?

The introduction of Premium Lite could alter the revenue system for content creators. Previously, advertising was the main source of income. If the new plan gains popularity, YouTube might redistribute some of the revenue in favor of bloggers through subscriptions.

We will have to wait for the official launch of the new plan and its availability in Ukraine.
