Starting in 2025, Poland will launch the "Junior Development Individual Accounts" program (IKR Junior). This initiative will assist students in grades 5–8 of primary and secondary schools, including children from Ukraine, in funding extracurricular activities.

The initiative aims to support children from low-income families. Participants will be able to receive up to 2500 zlotys per semester (up to 15,000 zlotys over three years). The pilot phase will allow students to receive even up to 17,500 zlotys, writes Ukrainian in РоІапԁ.
The funds will be used for:
- programming and technology courses;
- sports activities;
- music, art, or language lessons;
- workshops in crafts or technical creativity.
How to use the program?
Applications can be submitted by parents, guardians, or the students themselves (if they are of legal age).
This can be done:
- independently on the program's website;
- through the school, which will assist with the paperwork.
The first enrollment will take place from January 2 to 17, 2025, and will cover students from the Lublin and Subcarpathian voivodeships.
How is the funding structured?
The funds are not given directly to parents or students. They are allocated to the organizations conducting the activities upon submission of invoices.
Why is this needed?
The program aims to help children adapt to new circumstances, develop their interests, and integrate into Polish society. This is particularly important for children from Ukraine who face challenges in adapting to a new culture and language.
What’s next?
The pilot phase will encompass 100 students, and then the program will be implemented across Poland until 2028. Its budget is 110 million zlotys, and it aims to support at least 6000 students.
