The Estonian Refugee Council has launched a financial support program for vulnerable Ukrainian families in certain areas of Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, and Kharkiv regions affected by the war. The program offers payments of up to 32,200 hryvnias to assist rural households during the winter period.

Assistance is provided in the following communities: in the Zaporizhzhia district (Volnyanska and Belenkovska communities), Mykolaiv district (Shevchenkivska and Olshanska communities), Chuhuiv district (Zmiivska and Novopokrovska communities), and Izium district (Barvinkivska and Slobozhanska communities). This is reported by the Estonian Refugee Council portal.

The program covers expenses for:

  • restoration of animal shelters - up to 17,200 UAH,
  • feeding for animals - up to 12,000 UAH,
  • veterinary support – up to 3,000 UAH.

Priority is given to single-parent families with children, large families, pregnant women, households with small children, individuals with disabilities or serious illnesses, elderly pensioners, as well as families whose housing has been damaged or who have suffered due to the war.
