The streaming service Netflix has announced a price increase in several countries following a record profit for the fourth quarter of 2024.

The company reported a revenue growth of 16% and an operating profit exceeding $10 billion, reports Engadget.

Why are prices rising?

Netflix attributes this to investments in content, stating that it periodically asks users to pay more in order to continue enhancing the platform.

How much has the subscription increased?

The new rates affect subscribers in the USA, Canada, Portugal, and Argentina:

  • Standard with ads – from $7 to $8 per month.
  • Standard without ads – from $15 to $18.
  • Premium (4K Ultra HD and HDR) – from $23 to $25.
  • Adding a new user – from $8 to $9.

What about prices in Ukraine?

Currently, Ukrainian rates remain unchanged – ranging from €4.99 to €9.99 per month. However, in 2024, the company has already increased subscription prices in Japan, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

Thus, while the rates remain stable, the trend of gradual subscription price increases in various regions may indicate a potential rise for Ukrainian users in the future.
