Most Ukrainians use gas stoves for cooking, but few are aware that changing some habits can decrease gas consumption, and consequently, lower the bills.

"Naftogaz" shared several tips:

  • When boiling water, cover the pot with a lid to heat the liquid faster;
  • Position the pot in the center of the burner to ensure even distribution of the flame;
  • Clean pots from soot and grime; otherwise, they will take longer to heat, requiring more gas;
  • Regularly maintain the stove, particularly by cleaning the burners of dirt and soot;
  • Use a burner size that matches the diameter of the cookware. Heating a small pot on a large burner leads to fuel wastage.
