The government provides certain categories of citizens with subsidies and benefits for the payment of housing and communal services. Can Ukrainians receive both types of assistance simultaneously? The main department of the Pension Fund in the Donetsk region has the answer.

In Ukraine, there are categories of citizens eligible for both housing subsidies and benefits for utility payments. However, legislation imposes restrictions—it's not possible to receive both types of assistance at the same time.

If a household includes an individual eligible for both benefits and a subsidy, only one type of payment will be issued based on their choice.

The Pension Fund emphasizes that if a citizen receiving a housing subsidy expresses a desire to receive the benefit, it will be granted from the month the relevant application is submitted, but not earlier than the month in which the subsidy was awarded.

It’s important to note that there are various benefits for utility payments. For instance, large families can receive a 50% discount, while combat veterans may receive 75%. A 100% benefit is granted to individuals with disabilities due to war, as well as certain categories of pensioners living in rural areas.
