Seventy-year-old Safina Namukwaya from Uganda, who recently gave birth to twins, has shared the first photos of her newborn "miracle babies."

According to Today, the boy and girl, born via cesarean section on November 29, were discharged from the hospital along with their mother on January 6.

Each baby weighed approximately 2.2 kg.

"She simply can't take her eyes off her children," says obstetrician-gynecologist Edward Tamale Sali.

He adds that Namukwaya is a loving and caring mother. The woman named her son Kato Shafik Kangave and her daughter Shakira Babiyre Nabagala (shortened to Kato and Babiyre). Now in her hometown, she is referred to as Nalongо ("mother of twins"), while her husband Valusimbi is called Salongo ("father of twins").

Dr. Sali states that the 70-year-old mother is in good health—she has normal blood pressure and no diabetes, allowing her to enjoy motherhood.

"If you want another child— we're here," the doctor jokingly added.

The birth of healthy twins at such an advanced age is a true miracle that the world can admire. The most important thing is that the babies live free from poverty and unsanitary conditions.
